I gathered the answers to some popular questions below.
If you can’t find your question below feel free to contact me, and I will be happy to help.
After a period of research on different materials, I decided to use, for jewellery, jesmonite, polymer clay and modelling clay. Each one of these materials has unique properties which made them the ideal candidates for the task.
I like modelling clay because it is the most eco-friendly of the materials, has a strong durability and does not require the extra energy of an oven. I use it mostly in combination with silk screens to achieve different patterns for our Andean collection, Abstract Faces, and so on.
Jesmonite is my favourite material – it achieves a lovely smooth and silky texture, it is durable and it is an eco-resin. Mostly used for homeware accessories, my goal is to make the majority of Vibrant G jewellery with this material. I am continuously researching designs to achieve the most durable whilst still lightweight jewellery made of jesmonite.
Polymer clay is an institution in the world of jewellery making. Its versatility is out-of-this-world, I know. However, I want to minimise the use of plastic and the creation of toxic fumes or the use of additional energy such as an oven. I am currently using polymer clay for the Vibrant G modular collection and other one-of-a-kind collections, until I find a way of making these pieces with a more sustainable material.

Absolutely! To minimise Vibrant G’s impact on the environment, I have taken several eco-conscious initiatives.
First and foremost, I am proud to say that I do not use single-use plastic in any part of our deliveries. Instead, I package our beautiful jewellery in compostable envelopes, ensuring that your purchase not only brings joy but also contributes to a greener planet.
Moreover, my dedication to sustainability extends to the materials we use in our products. While our current fixings are made of silver plated hypoallergenic stainless steel, our collection starting in March 2024 will use only recycled silver from now on.
As for our jewellery storage cards, I am currently using paper to minimise waste. But wait, there’s a delightful twist! In our next batch, I will be switching to plantable (seeded) paper for our cards. Yes, you read that right! With plantable paper, you will not only receive exquisite jewellery but also a beautiful gift to nurture a plant and watch it grow alongside your cherished piece. How wonderful is that? I am already using this practice for Vibrant G’s business cards!
With these sustainable practices, I hope to inspire positive change whilst I keep learning and changing my practices towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly results. There is a lot more to do still, yet, thank you for supporting our commitment to environmentally friendly practices. Together, we can make a difference—one jewellery and plant at a time! 😊
